The well-known worship song “Be still and know” may be playing in your mind right now:

Be still and know that I am God
Be still and know that I am God
Be still and know that I am God

I am the Lord that healeth thee
I am the Lord that healeth thee
I am the Lord that healeth thee

In thee, O Lord, I put my trust
In thee, O Lord, I put my trust
In thee, O Lord, I put my trust

The message is clear – God is with us, he protects us and he will carry us through the difficult, sad and challenging times. Yes, he is also present in times of joy.

This song is a reminder to me that I do not have to rely on my own strength when things seem overwhelming. I can be still and turn to God.

There are always moments when it feels like you just cannot go on, when you no longer have the physical or emotional capacity to fight and struggle against life’s challenges. You reach a point where you simply want to give up. Do you know what? You can surrender to God. You are allowed to be still and ask him to carry you through those difficult or sorrowful times. We just need to persevere in faith and keep trusting in God

Prayer: Father, help me to be still and turn to you. Thank you for protecting and carrying me, no matter what I face. Amen
