BAHEBERU 11:1NSO00Bula go Mmadi wa Bibele

Two Sundays ago, the restaurants in South Africa were already packed early in the morning to watch the fight between South Africa’s Dricus “Stillknocks” du Plessis and the American, Sean Strickland in Toronto, Canada. After five rounds, Dricus was declared the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) new middleweight world champion!

The support from South Africa was tangible. Dricus could feel it. In his speech, he even jokingly said that if the audience were to stay silent for a moment, they would hear the supporters in South Africa. What I liked most was his words to the supporters: “South Africa, now they know what we know.” Dricus had an unwavering belief in his heart that this milestone was possible.

Throughout the Bible, we read about a few people who had their backs against the wall. All they had was their faith in an invisible God’s ability to perform miracles – Elijah on Mount Carmel; Daniel in the lion’s den; Moses at the Red Sea; Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in front of the fiery furnace. All they had to do was show up, put their faith into action and stand firm so that God could reveal his ability to perform miracles to those around them.

In Hebrews 11:1 NIV, we read: “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

What are you facing today? Sickness? Financial shortage? A broken relationship? Work pressure? Do you know who God is? Do you believe that he does not change? Will you trust him blindly?

Stand strong in your faith. Soon, you may also look back and say, “Look, now everyone knows that he truly lives!” God bless.

Prayer: Father God, thank you very much for your goodness and favour. I place my faith and trust in you, knowing that you can make the impossible possible for (mention the situation). Please calm my heart. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
