JESAYA 6
When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, his face was radiant, because he had spoken with the Lord. The Israelites could immediately see something was different. Moses was different. The time in God’s presence changed him. Who is this GLORIOUS God Moses met on the mountain? What does He look like? In Isaiah 6, the prophet Isaiah tells of a vision he had of God: “I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings; with two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.’ At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.” Absolutely overwhelmed, Isaiah cried out, ““Woe to me! I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips . . . and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” One of the seraphim touched Isaiah’s mouth with a live coal and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” Isaiah then heard the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” Immediately Isaiah answered: “Here am I. Send me!” (Isaiah 6:8) God is GLORIOUS and holy. His presence transforms us. We become aware of things in our lives that are not yet sacred. At the same time it creates a need for us to want to change to become more holy. I wonder, can people sense you have spent time in God’s presence? Father God, thank you so much that we as ordinary people come into your presence. Help me to be obedient when You lead me. I ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
