Revelation 8

₁When the Lamb opened the 7th seal of the scroll, it became very very quiet in heaven for half an hour. No one could hear anything. ₂Then I saw the 7 angels who always stand before God. God gave them 7 trumpets.

₃Another angel came and he stood at the altar in heaven. He had a golden incense-bowl. Someone gave him a lot of incense that he had to sacrifice with the prayers of all the people who belong to God. The angel had to sacrifice it on the golden altar before the throne of God. ₄The smoke of the incense, and the prayers of all the people who belong to God, went up from the incense-bowl in the angel's hand and it went up before God.

₅Then the angel took the incense-bowl and he made it full of fire from the altar. Then he threw the fire onto the earth and there was a lot of thunder and lightning and an earthquake. It made a lot of noise.

₆The 7 angels who had the 7 trumpets prepared to blow the trumpets.

₇The first angel blew his trumpet, and then hail-stones and fire fell onto the earth with blood. One 3rd of the earth was burnt, one 3rd of all the trees were burnt and all the green grass was burnt.

₈The 2nd angel blew his trumpet and then I saw something that looked like a big burning mountain full of fire. It fell into the sea and one 3rd of the sea became blood. ₉One 3rd of all the things that live in the sea died and one 3rd of all the boats were destroyed.

₁₀The 3rd angel blew his trumpet and a big star fell from the sky. It burnt like a torch. The star fell onto one 3rd of the rivers and fountains. ₁₁The name of the star was Wormwood. One 3rd of the water became as bitter as wormwood and many people died from the water because it was so bitter.

₁₂The 4th angel blew his trumpet, and it hit one 3rd of the sun, one 3rd of the moon, and one 3rd of the stars, so that one 3rd of all of them became dark. One 3rd of the day and one 3rd of the night had no light. ₁₃Then I saw an eagle high up in the sky. I heard it shouting_loudly. It said: ‘The people on earth will suffer a lot when the other 3 angels blow their trumpets.’
