The woman and the dragon
1I saw a big sign in the sky: There was a woman. The sun was her clothes, the moon was under her feet and on her head was a crown of 12 stars. 2The woman was pregnant and she shouted because she was having a baby and she was in a lot of pain.
3I looked and I saw another sign in the sky: There was a big dragon. The dragon was red like fire and it had 7 heads and 10 horns. There were 7 crowns on its heads. 4The dragon used its tail and it destroyed one 3rd of the stars in the sky and it threw them onto the earth. It stood before the woman who was going to have a Baby. The dragon wanted to kill and eat the Baby when He was born.
5The woman had a Son and God decided that this Son would rule the people of all nations with an iron_sceptre. And God quickly took the woman's Son to heaven, to God's throne. 6And the woman ran away into the desert. God prepared a place in the desert for her to stay. And God helped her and cared for her for 1 260 days.
7Then there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels made war_against the dragon and the dragon and his angels made war_against Michael and his angels. 8Michael won and the dragon and his angels were defeated. There was no place for them in heaven. 9God chased the big dragon out of heaven. The dragon is the old snake. His names are the devil and Satan. He deceives all the people of the world. God threw him and his angels onto the earth. 10Then I heard someone shouting_loudly in heaven. He said:
‘Our God has saved us.
He is very strong.
He is our King and He rules.
Yes, the Christ of God rules
over everything and everyone.
God rules because He
has chased Satan out of heaven.
Satan accuses people
who believe with us
every day and every night.
11But the believers themselves
defeated Satan
because the Lamb had died
and because they told everyone
that they believed in Him.
Yes, they were not afraid
when people killed them.
12That is why heaven must be happy.
Everyone in heaven must be happy.
But the people on earth will suffer a lot,
and the sea will suffer a lot,
because the devil has come down to you
and he is very angry,
because he knows that he has little time.’
13When the dragon saw that God had thrown him onto the earth, he followed_and_chased the woman who had had the Son. 14But God gave the woman 2 wings of a big eagle so that she could fly away from the snake. She could fly to her place in the desert. God took care of her there for 3 and a half years.
15The snake caused a lot of water to flow out of his mouth to the woman. It was like a river. He wanted to drown the woman in the flood of water. 16But the earth helped the woman. The earth opened and the water that had come from the dragon flowed into the earth. 17The dragon was very angry with the woman and he went away to go to war_against the other children of the woman. Her other children are the people who do what God's laws say. They do what Jesus said.
The beast that came out of the sea
18The dragon stood on the beach next to the sea.
