Revelation 10
The small scroll
1Then I saw another strong angel coming down from heaven. There was a cloud around him and a rainbow over his head. His face looked like the sun and his feet were like pillars of fire. 2He had a little scroll in his hand, and the scroll was open. The angel put his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land. 3He shouted_very_loudly, as loudly as a lion that roars. When the angel shouted, there was a noise of 7 thunders.
4When the 7 thunders made the noise, I wanted to write down what they said, but Someone in heaven told me: ‘Do not tell anyone what the 7 thunders have said. Do not write it down.’
5The angel that I saw, who stood on the sea and on the land, put his right hand up towards heaven. 6He promised and said God was his Witness. This was the God who lives forever, who made the heaven and everything in heaven, the earth and everything on earth, and the sea and everything in the sea. The angel said: ‘God will wait no longer. 7When the 7th angel blows his trumpet, God will make the things happen that He decided long ago. No one knew that things like this would happen, but God told the prophets who served Him that it would happen.’
8Again I heard Someone speaking to me from heaven. He said: ‘You must go and get the scroll that is open and in the hand of the angel standing on the sea and on the land.’
9I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. The angel said to me: ‘You must take the scroll and you must eat it. It will be bitter in your stomach, but in your mouth it will taste as sweet as honey.’
10I took the little scroll from the hand of the angel and I ate it. It tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it, my stomach became bitter. 11Then they said to me: ‘You must tell God's message again, about the people and the nations and the languages and the many kings.’
