Grain-offerings and drink-offerings
1The Lord said to Moses: 2‘You must tell the Israelites: When you come into the land that I give you to live in 3and one of you wants to give Me a fire-offering that pleases Me, a cow or a goat or a sheep for a burnt-offering, or a vow-offering or a sacrifice that he wants to give, or an offering at one of your feasts, 4he must give a grain-offering with his offering. The grain-offering must be one 10th of an ephah of the best flour that he has mixed with a quarter_hin of olive oil. 5With each lamb that is a burnt-offering or another offering, he must also give a quarter_hin of wine for the drink-offering.
6Or if someone sacrifices a sheep ram, then he must also give a grain-offering. It must be 2 10ths of an ephah of the best flour that he has mixed with a 3rd_hin of olive oil, 7and he must give a 3rd_hin of wine for the drink-offering. It must be an offering that pleases Me.
8And when someone gives a bull for the burnt-offering or a vow-offering or a peace-offering for Me, 9he must give a grain-offering with the bull. It must be 3 10ths of an ephah of the best flour that he has mixed with half a hin of olive oil 10and he must give half a hin of wine for the drink-offering. It must be given together with a fire-offering that pleases Me.
11You must do this with every bull or sheep ram or lamb or goat lamb that you sacrifice. 12You must do this with every animal that you sacrifice. 13Every Israelite must do this when he gives a fire-offering that pleases Me. 14And if there are strangers or other people living among you or your descendants, and one of them wants to give Me a fire-offering that pleases Me, then he must do the same as you. 15The congregation must always use the same law for you and for the strangers who are living among you or with your descendants. You and the strangers are the same to Me. 16You and the strangers who live among you must all do what I want and what I decide.’
The offering of the first dough
17The Lord said to Moses: 18‘You must tell the Israelites: When you come into the land that I will give you 19and you eat the food that grows in the land, you must give Me part of the food. 20You must give Me a round bread from the first dough that you mix. You must give it as an offering that comes from the threshing-floor. 21You and your descendants must always give Me an offering from the first dough that you mix.’
The sin-offering, when people do wrong
22The Lord also said to Moses: ‘This is what you must do when you have done wrong and you have not done everything that I have told Moses. 23I have told Moses to tell you everything and this will stay true from the day that I said it to you, and for your descendants in the future. 24If you do wrong but you did not know that you were sinning, or the congregation does not know that you have sinned or done wrong, then the congregation must give a bull to be a burnt-offering that pleases Me. They must give it with the grain-offering and the drink-offering that they have to give with the burnt-offering and also a goat-ram for the sin-offering. 25The priest must then make atonement for the congregation_of_Israel and I will forgive them, because it was wrong, but they gave their offerings, the burnt-offering to Me and the sin-offering for the sin that they have done. 26I will forgive all the people of the congregation_of_Israel and also the strangers who live among them, because it was all the people of Israel who did wrong.
27If it is one person who does wrong, then he must give a goat ewe that is one-year-old for the sin-offering. 28The priest must make atonement for the person who has sinned but who did not know that what he had done was wrong and I will forgive him. 29You must use the same law for the Israelites and for strangers who live among you, if they have sinned but they did not know that they had sinned.’
If someone knows that he is doing wrong
30The Lord also said: ‘If an Israelite or a stranger sins because he wants to do wrong, then he disobeys my laws. He rebels_against Me and you must cut him off from my people. 31He did not listen to the words of God and he broke God's laws, so he may not be part of my people anymore. It is his own fault.’
Someone who does not respect the Sabbath day
32While the Israelites were in the desert, they saw a man picking up wood for a fire on the Sabbath day. 33The people who saw him picking up wood took him to Moses and Aaron and all the Israelites who were together. 34They did not know what to do with him and they kept him with them. 35The Lord said to Moses: ‘The man must die, this is sure. All the people of the congregation must kill him. They must throw stones at him outside the camp.’
36The people of the congregation took him outside the camp and they killed him with stones. He died as the Lord had told Moses.
The Israelites must have tassels on their clothes
37The Lord said to Moses: 38‘You must tell the Israelites that they and their descendants must have tassels at the corners at the bottom of their clothes and they must tie a blue string to each tassel. 39You must have the tassels so that when you see them, you will remember the things that I said and you will do them. Then you will not do what you want to do yourselves and you will not be unfaithful to Me. 40You will remember everything that I have told you and you will do it and you will be consecrated to Me, your God. 41I am the Lord your God who brought you from the land of Egypt so that I can be your God. I am the Lord your God.’
