Leviticus 20

₁The Lord said to Moses: ₂‘You must tell the Israelites: “If an Israelite or a stranger who lives in the land gives his child or one of his descendants to Molek, then he must die. The people of the land must throw stones at him until he is dead. ₃I will be an enemy of that man. I will cut him off from his people because he has killed a child by giving him to Molek. He made my temple impure and he took away the honour of my holy name. ₄If the people in the land see someone giving his child to Molek, but they close their eyes and they don't kill him, ₅then I will be the enemy of those people and their families. I will cut them off from their people and I will cut off everyone who was also unfaithful with them and who served Molek.

₆I will also be the enemy of any person who goes to mediums and spiritists. That person is unfaithful to Me. I will be his enemy and I will cut him off from his people. ₇You must consecrate yourselves to Me, and you must be holy people, because I am the Lord your God. ₈You must always do what I want. I am the Lord, and I have consecrated you to Me.

₉Yes, the person who curses his parents must die. He has cursed his parents and that is why he must die. He is guilty.” ’

₁₀‘The man who commits_adultery and sleeps with another man's wife must die. He and the woman must die.

₁₁A man who has sex with his father's wife must die. He has brought shame to his father's name. The man and the woman must both die, because they are guilty.

₁₂If a man has sex with his daughter-in-law, he must die. They both must die. They have done something which God hates, and they are guilty.

₁₃If a man has sex with another man, he must die. They have done something which the Lord hates. They must both die, because they are guilty.

₁₄It is very bad if a man marries a woman and her mother. You must burn all 3 of them. This may not happen among you.

₁₅Any man who has sex with an animal must die. He must die and you must also kill the animal. ₁₆And if a woman has sex with an animal, you must kill the woman and the animal. They must die, because they are guilty.

₁₇If a man marries his sister or his half-sister and they have sex, it is a shame. You must cut them off from their people and people must see that you do it. He has brought shame on his sister's name, and he is guilty. ₁₈If a man has sex with a woman who is menstruating, you must cut them both off from their people.

₁₉You may not have sex with the sister of your father or your mother. If you do, then you and the woman are guilty. ₂₀If a man has sex with his uncle's wife, then he brings shame to his uncle's name. This is a sin, and they are guilty. None of them will have children. ₂₁If a man has sex with his brother's wife, they both become impure. He has brought shame on his brother's name and the man or woman will never have children.’

₂₂‘You must always do everything that I say and decide, and then I will bring you to a land that will not chase you away. ₂₃Do not live like the people of other nations. I have chased them away to give their land to you. They have done all these bad things and I hate them. ₂₄I have told you to take their land. I gave it to you to belong to you. This is a land with lots of food, milk and honey. I am the Lord your God. I have told you to be my special people, my chosen people among all the other nations. ₂₅That is why you must also remember: The pure animals and birds are not the same as impure animals and birds. I have told you which animals are impure. Do not touch any of the impure animals, birds or small animals, because then you will also become impure. ₂₆You must be holy because I, the Lord your God, am holy. I have told you to be my special people among the other nations.

₂₇A man or woman who is a medium or spiritist among you must die. You must kill them with stones, because they are guilty.’
