Exodus 26
The tent of the Lord
1The Lord said to Moses: ‘You must make a tent of the Lord from 10 pieces_of_material. It must be made of good linen and blue, purple and red wool material. You must get a clever artisan to sew pictures of cherub-angels on the material. 2Every piece_of_material must be 28 cubits long and 4 cubits wide. 3You must sew 5 pieces_of_material together and then the other 5 pieces. 4-5You must sew 50 blue loops on one side of each piece_of_material, and they must be opposite each other. 6You must then sew 50 golden hooks onto each piece_of_material so that the hooks can hook into the loops on the other piece of material, and one piece of material can be fastened to the other piece of material. 7You must make another tent that will cover the tent of the Lord. Make this tent from goat hair. It must have 11 pieces_of_material. 8Each piece_of_material must be 30 cubits long and 4 cubits wide. 9You must first sew 5 pieces_of_material together and then the other 6 pieces. Fold the 6th piece_of_material over. This must be in front of the tent. 10Sew 50 loops on the side of each piece_of_material. 11You must also sew 50 bronze hooks to each piece_of_material and put the hooks into the loops. Then when you put up the tent, the pieces will all be like one piece of material fastened to each other. 12The piece_of_material that is left over must hang over the back of the tent of the Lord. 13On each long side of the tent there will be a piece_of_material of one cubit that will hang down over each side. 14Take red sheepskin to cover the tent and soft leather to put on top of it.’
The frames for the tent of the Lord
15‘You must make frames from acacia wood to keep the tent of the Lord upright. 16Each frame must be 10 cubits long and one and a half cubits wide. 17Each frame must have 2 wooden pegs and 2 holes so that you can fasten the poles to each other. This is what you must do with all the frames of the tent of the Lord. 18You must make 20 frames for the southern side of the tent of the Lord. 19You must also make 40 stands from silver and put the 20 frames on the stands. There must be 2 stands under each frame where the wooden pegs are. 20-21You must also make 20 frames and 40 stands from silver for the northern side of the tent of the Lord. 22For the western side of the tent of the Lord you must make 6 frames 23and 2 frames on each corner of the tent of the Lord. 24The frames on the corners must be stronger, from the bottom to the ring on top. Both frames must be strong like those on the corners. 25There must be 8 frames on the western side with 16 silver stands.
26-27You must also make crossbars from acacia wood, 5 crossbars for the frames on 3 sides of the tent of the Lord, to the north, south and west. 28The crossbar in the middle between the frames must be very long, from one side to the other side of the tent of the Lord. 29You must cover the frames with gold. Make rings from gold and put the crossbars through the rings. Also cover the crossbars with gold. 30You must make the tent of the Lord exactly as I have shown you on the mountain.’
The curtain inside the tent of the Lord
31‘You must make a curtain for the tent of the Lord from blue, purple and red wool and good linen. You must sew pictures of cherub-angels on the curtains. 32Take 4 acacia poles and cover them with gold and fasten 4 hooks of gold on them. Make 4 stands from silver for the poles. 33Then you must hang the curtain on the golden hooks and keep the covenant box with the 10 commandments in it behind the curtain. The curtain must divide the holy room from the most_holy room.
34You must put the covenant box with the 10 commandments in it and the lid in the most_holy room. 35Put the table outside the curtain and the lamp-stand on the other side of the table at the southern side of the tent of the Lord. The table must be at the northern side.
36You must close the door of the tent with material made of blue, purple and red wool and good linen. 37You must hang it on 5 poles of acacia wood that you have covered with gold and make 5 stands from bronze for these poles and put hooks on the poles.’
