1 John 1
Jesus Christ gives real_life to people
1We write to you about Jesus Christ. He is the Word who gives real_life to people. When He was on earth, we heard what He said and we saw Him with our eyes. Yes, we have seen Him and we have touched Him with our hands. 2Jesus Christ, who gave us real_life, became a Man. We have seen Him and we tell you that Jesus Himself is the eternal_life. He was with the Father, but He became a Man and lived with us. 3We have seen Him and we have heard what He said and we tell you about Him so that you can also belong to the Lord and to us. Then we can all belong to the Father and his Son Jesus Christ. 4We write these things to you and it makes us happy, so that our hearts are full of joy.
God is light
5We tell you what we have heard that Jesus said. He said God is light and there is no darkness in Him. 6If we say we belong to God, but we live in the dark, not in the light of God, then we lie and we don't do what God wants. 7But if we live in the light as God is in the light, then we belong to each other. Then the blood of Jesus, the Son of God, washes all our sins away.
8If we say we do not have sin, then we deceive ourselves and we do not accept the truth. 9If we say that we have sinned and we confess our sins, then we can be sure that God will do what He has promised. We can be sure that He will do what is right. He will forgive our sins and wash away everything that we have done wrong. 10If we say we have not sinned, then it means we say that God lies. Then we do not accept what God tells us.
